Bruce Willis
Bruce Willis, an actor and musician, is
famous for his tough-edged roles or smart characters in action movies.
Together, they've been featured in movies that have grossed more than $2.5
billion USD. Walter Bruce Willis was born on the 19th of March, 1955, in
Idar-Oberstein, West Germany, to a German mother, Marlene Kassel, and an
American father, David Andrew Willis (from Carneys Point, New Jersey) and was
living on a United States military base. The family moved to the U.S. soon
after he was born. Willis was born in Penns Grove by his mother who worked in a
bank, and his father, who was a welder and factory worker and welder. Willis
started to take an interest in the dramatic arts at high school. He was
"discovered" during his time working at a New York City cafe. Later,
he appeared in various off-Broadway productions. He was bartending one night
when a casting director saw his charisma and asked for him to serve as the
bartender for a small film. Willis was part of numerous auditions prior to
being cast in the popular romantic comedy, Moonlighting (1985), as David
Addison. His sarcastic and wisecracking P.I. is seen by some as an attempt to
play the role of hard-boiled NYC detective "John McClane" in the
monster hit Die Hard (1988), in which Willis McClane's character battled an
gang of vicious international thieves inside a Los Angeles skyscraper. In Die
Hard 2 (1990) in which he reprised the role. The group of rebellious Special
Forces soldiers is trying to bring back a corrupt South American general. They
are set in Washington's Dulles International Airport. The film's stellar
box-office results led to an sequel to Die Hard with the same vengeance (1995).
This time, Samuel L. Jackson starred as a shrewd Harlem shopkeeper who was
accidentally forced to assist McClane in the aftermath of a terrorist attack on
a hot New York City day.
